I photographed Yuna, the lioness, at The Big Cat Sanctuary, and rescuing her was a life-changing experience. Rescued from Ukraine, she had never felt grass beneath her paws, confined to a 4x4 cage on a concrete floor. Today, she roams freely on grass in her forever home, built for her. Every glance, every movement reflects resilience, curiosity, and the joy of newfound freedom. Capturing this moment with her felt deeply personal, a powerful reminder of why conservation, rescue and sanctuary work matters.
